Purim and Passover Celebrations

"Passover," the first of the three feasts that God calls His own, has come and gone! This holy week initiated and determined a special harvest of Grace, Favor & Protection for us this year! The purpose for this season or appointed time is not only to celebrate and remember the greatest love sacrifice at Calvary by our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus, but also for God to open the windows of heaven and pour out such a blessing that it would sustain us the entire year.

So as the feast of Purim prepared our hearts for experiencing the anointing of Passover and not only having the best Passover season here at Church on the Rock as we celebrated the Lord's Supper, Good Friday, and the Resurection, we also participated in the feast of First Fruits. This is where each one of us gave their "best" offering by planting a financial seed for our investment in God's kingdom financial system. It was an awesome week spent in the presence of God!

Monday, the 25th of April, at sundown, we finished the Passover season with praise & worship during our corporate prayer. This begins the next season here - the upcoming Feast of Weeks, or Shavout, we call Pentecost. So, for the next seven weeks we will prepare our hearts with a seven-part series entitled "The Gifts of the Holy Spirit." Look for the weekly teachings on our website if you would like to join us as we go forward into the season of Pentecost.

"I LOVE you more than..."

Have you ever said this statement to your husband or your wife?  It is an important phrase to remember since marriage here on earth is the symbolic representation of Christ’s love for His church.  Are we making sure to love each other as Jesus loved us? 

This is the Month of Love!  Here at Church on the Rock we have an incredible marriage ministry, Covenant Rebuilders, devoted to training and mentoring courtships, engagements and marriages.  Our teachings are based on biblical principals and revelation revealed to Pastor Robert Scheck collected in the book, “Unshakable Marriage.”  We constantly go over what covenant is and why it is so vital to look back at God’s original blueprint.  Here are some questions to ask yourself.  We pray that these questions can encourage you to delve deeper into finding God’s intention for your marriage. 

Who has the most influence in your life?

Who do you believe and trust in?

How do you keep the romance alive in your marriage?

Something to ponder:  Mathew 5:41, “And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with them two.”  Is this scripture possible referring to your relationship, are you going the extra mile with your husband or wife?  What does going to extra mile really mean?  The extra mile is simply this: Love.  The extra mile is what makes an ordinary life together extraordinary, it is what keeps you excited for the unexpected.  It is the knowledge that you will be supported not only by you Heavenly Father, but by the man or woman given to you by Him.  It is so important to remember that you are helpers to each other, complimenting the others characteristics with your own, like two perfectly matching puzzle pieces.  Marriage is the fusion of two hearts; this is how God designed it, as two tributaries flowing into one beautiful river with each other.  We hope that this has encouraged you in your relationship and prompted your heart to find some of the answers you may not know.  Please know that we are praying for all marriages and relationships on a daily basis.  Stand on this: “Love Never Fails!”  1 Corinthians 13:8a

What a season of JOY!

As as church body we celebrated Chaukah this year and lit a candle on the Menorah each night at sundown.  By lighting the Menorah we were reminded that Jesus is the Light of the world.  The celebration of Chanukah is known as the Festival of Lights or the Festival of Rededication which is a great time to honor the glory of God and re-dedicate our lives to him.

This year on the last night of  Chanukah we were all excited to hear an announcement that our courting couple Pat and Morgan are now engaged to be married in May of 2011.  They are truely a blessing to our church!  In the picture below you will see them lighting the Menorah.

Heart Transformation Conference 2010

“Heart Transformation,” our first ever women’s conference was held just several weeks ago and it was off the charts!  The movement of the Holy Spirit was evident in the anointing that was present and the hearts that were transformed during this time.  Pastor Jill spoke about the design of a woman and what transformation is really about.  We are also so grateful for our other guest speakers: Katherine Burnett, Jennifer Follis, Vicki Albrecht and Debra Greene that were able to come and share what the Lord had so obviously laid on their hearts.  At this time we have the DVD’s of the conference available.  If you are interested, whether you attended or not, and want so hear a group of speakers that will transform your heart, please contact the church to request a copy.  Here are some photos from the weekend...

Independence Day Celebration

Thank you Lord that we live in a Country with all the freedoms we have. Thank you for the brave men and women who continue to fight for our freedoms. In celebration of Independence Day we had a BBQ potlock after the service. We also had a wonderful time of fellowship while the guys shot off some fireworks for us out back. What a blessing to be able to enjoy such a great time with our brothers and sisters in Christ!

Pentecost

Our latest celebration was for Pentecost on May 22nd. This was the 2nd of the 3 feasts/ celebrations we are gathring for this year as God has instructed us to. We as a church are believing for a great harvest in 2010 in the many areas in which we have planted our seed. I'm not talking about literal "seeds" as in wheat, but the seeds we have sowed both as a church and as individuals into different ministries to support the areas in which we have been praying for increase. If you are believing for growth in a particular area of your life, there's no better way to please God then to give to someone else who needs help for the same thing.

Breaking Free Women's Conference

Pastor Jill Scheck had the pleasure of being invited to speak at the Breaking Free Womens Conference this past weekend at Celebration Community Church. She spoke at two workshops about "The 5 Questions in Every Womans Heart". Each of her workshops had a great turn out and God was definately there ministring to the hearts of every woman. If you were in attendance for one of her workshops and would like to speak with her more regarding this subject please contact the church to set up an appointment with her. We also have a womens group that discusses this along with other topics pertaining to women that we'd love to have you attend.
